Development with Environment in Focus
At Tojos, we continuously work on development and quality improvements that lead to reduced environmental impact and energy consumption. Knowledge of different material properties is crucial when designing and developing new products, and we are careful about the materials we use in our production. Plastic is a collective term for a large group of semi-synthetic or synthetic materials with various qualities, making it an attractive material in several applications.
We are environmentally certified and aim to contribute to a sustainable society. Therefore, we set high standards for both ourselves and our suppliers.
Biobased and Sustainable Plastic Production
Biomaterials are materials that are biobased, biodegradable, or both. These are plastic materials wholly or partially made from biologically derived raw materials from the plant kingdom, such as corn starch, sugar cane, or cellulose, instead of using fossil substances. There are also biomaterials consisting of polyester mixed with starch and dolomite (limestone).
Several of these biobased materials are biodegradable or compostable, meaning that environmental microorganisms break down the material into its natural substances, such as water, carbon dioxide, and compost.
Biodegradable plastics are well-suited for products with a short lifespan, such as disposable cutlery, urns, and various short-lived packaging. The development is progressing rapidly, continually creating materials that can be used for more and more long-lasting products.
Biobased plastics have significant potential, and the demand for developing products in biobased plastics is gradually increasing. There are two major advantages of biobased plastics compared to traditional ones: they conserve fossil resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Injection Molding – Tailored to Your Needs!
At Tojos, we already produce products in biobased and biodegradable plastics, leveraging our knowledge and experience to find solutions in these materials with our material suppliers. From simple products to more advanced technical items, our production takes place in specially adapted spaces with a hygiene zone for food-safe production. This allows us to work on products where customers have high hygiene standards for manufacturing packaging for the food industry and medical products.
We are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
Together, We Can Make a Difference with Biobased Materials
