Our story
The story of Prototal begins already in the 1980’s. We started in Sweden as an internal prototype shop
at Electrolux & Husqvarna AB.
Since then, our journey has been quite impressive, transforming from a small company in Jönköping to a thriving corporation with a strong presence spanning across Europe.

1989
Electrolux Rapid Development in Huskvarna, Sweden, installs the first SLA 250 in Europe, the 3rd world-wide.
1999
The employees acquire the polymer side of the company and change the name to Prototal AB.
1999-2016
Local Swedish Player with wide technological offering. Prototal PDS joins the group in 2013.
2017
Prototal GTP in Ystad, Sweden, joins the Prototal Group. The group now has the largest SLS machine park in the Nordics.
2019
Prototal enter both the Norwegian and Danish market with the acquisition of Prototal AS (Norway) and Prototal Damvig (Denmark.)
2020
Prototal Tojos (Tojos Plast) joins the group and we strengthen our capabilities in injection moulding.
We also enter the UK market and 3TAMP (today called Prototal UK) joins the Prototal family.

2021
The Italian company Prosilas join the group. Prosilas has over 20 years of experience of additive manufacturing.
2022
We enter the DACH area with the acquisition of 1zu1. The Swedish injection moulding company ToBe Teknik also joins the group.
