At Tojos, we continue our dedicated automation process with new solutions and more efficient methods in our production facility.
In collaboration with one of our major clients, we have been testing a new packaging method during the summer months. We call it layering, where the finished products are layered instead of simply being loosely placed in a box. This means that a robot extracts the finished molded parts from the mold, assembles the product, which is then moved to a new position where another robot lifts and layers the parts on a pallet according to a pre-programmed pattern.
More efficient and increased technical competence
This new packaging method requires less manual handling, and the staff no longer need to switch boxes, tape them, or label them, etc. This makes the workflow more efficient than before. However, working with robot cells demands higher technical competence from the staff, as we program our equipment depending on what needs to be manufactured in the production cells. Concurrently with the implementation, our staff has been trained in the new technology by our collaborative partner, who is also the supplier of the layering equipment.
Quick implementation and higher quality
The implementation and testing have proceeded according to plan, allowing us to now run full-scale production with live deliveries.
Previously, since we used to pack products directly into boxes and the products were still warm when removed from the mold, there was a greater risk of deformation. With the new layering method, the product retains its shape/roundness throughout the entire process and during transportation to the customer. Adopting automated layering has optimized the quality of the product and manufacturing.
Injection moulding - small to large!
Tojos is a full-service company for plastic production through injection molding, manufacturing a wide range from small details to larger products, covering everything from simple to more advanced technical items. Our plastic production is automated, and we have a streamlined production flow.
Through injection molding, products can be manufactured in various plastic materials, and we are happy to provide information about different materials suitable for injection molding, including bio-based plastics. We can assist you from idea to finished product, as well as with assembly, packaging, and delivery.
