AMT and Prototal Industries forge strategic partnership to accelerate industrial-scale post-processing in 3D Printing

Sheffield, UK & Jönköping, Sweden – Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT), the global leader in automated post-processing for industrial 3D printing, has entered into a strategic partnership with Prototal Industries, Europe’s largest provider of industrial 3D printing, injection moulding, vacuum casting, and aluminium tooling.

Under this agreement, AMT will deliver scalable, next-generation post-processing solutions that eliminate bottlenecks, boost efficiency, and enable industrial-scale production across Prototal’s European facilities. The alliance integrates AMT’s fully automated PostPro® solutions into Prototal’s end-to-end additive manufacturing workflows, removing manual steps and driving consistency at scale. AMT’s vapor smoothing and depowdering systems are already operational at Prototal’s facilities in Austria, Denmark, Italy, UK and Sweden with further deployments planned.

Our shared vision with Prototal is simple: drive industrialisation, repeatability, and scalability in additive manufacturing,” said Giorgio Ioannides, Head of Sales at AMT. “By combining our advanced post-processing with Prototal’s vast AM capabilities, we’re delivering unmatched quality, consistency, and efficiency — all while reducing costs to enable broader industry adoption.

Prototal is a key beta tester of AMT technology, with both companies actively sharing knowledge to refine processes and develop next-generation solutions. Plans are already in motion to extend the collaboration beyond vapor smoothing into new post-processing technologies.

This partnership marks an important step in strengthening our ecosystem of world-class manufacturing solutions. By working with AMT, we can provide our customers with even greater flexibility, speed, and reliability in scaling their production,” said Ronnie Petersson, Chief Commercial Officer at Prototal Industries.

As additive manufacturing shifts from prototyping to true volume production, this partnership aims to remove the final barriers to scale. Together, AMT and Prototal are committed to setting new standards for efficiency, surface finish, and throughput in industrial 3D printing.
